In my previous post, I posted about designing of bipedal robot using CATIA part design tools and this post is about assembly and exploding of bipedal robot parts. here are the steps I followed Step1 • Opening assembly design workbench in CATIA software. Step2 • Adding existed components to the workbench. Note – add the main component first and fix it, after that add remaining components. Step3 • Joining all added components to the main component using constraints. Step4 • Checking the movement of joined parts, whether it is moving with respect to the given constraint or not. Step5 • Exploding the assembled parts.

In my previous post, I mentioned about my personal project and now, This post is about my work i.e. how I did this design using CATIA v5. Below are the toolbars of CATIA v5 which I have used for this project 1. Sketcher · This is used to create a 3d model sketch Ø Profile toolbar ü These tools are used to draw structures. Ø Operation toolbar ü These tools are used to modify the drawn structures. Ø Constraint ü This is used to give dimensions to the sketch. 2. Part design · In this, we add material to the closed sketch to whatever the depth or dimension we want. Ø Sketch-based features ü These features are used to apply or remove material to our 3d sketch. Ø Surface-based features ü These features are used to edit the designed object. 3. ...
